Who we are
We are third year Film Production students from the Arts University College at Bournemouth and are in the production stages of our final Graduation film Zepp n Zepp (Working Title). Our film idea was pitched and selected to go forward to be made and we are now involved in the pre-production for the film. This film is so important for us as it is our chance to really show what we can do after three years of hard work in our degree.
We hope that by fundraising and receiving donations, however big or small will be a massive help in order for us to make the best film possible.
The Story
Zepp n Zepp is an anti religious parable, which fuses the mundane with the extraordinary with comical results. Based loosely on the Greek myth of Sisyphus, Zepp n Zepp is a tale about the quest for meaning in the lives of all of us.
Jeff and Julian Zepp are two habitually ordinary people who own a truck stop in the middle of the countryside somewhere in Britain. However, their timid stroll through life is interrupted one day by the arrival of a large gem like rock in their back garden. Unsure to its origins and its meaning, the younger brother Julian Zepp begins to forge a relationship with the rock based on his own limited knowledge of the divine. The elder brother Jeff tries to convince Julian that his religious notions are skewed and that the rocks presence can be deciphered logically.
The brother’s relationship to each other starts to be defined by their new companion’s presence, with strange or miraculous results. Is this rock their salvation? Does it hold the key to the meaning of their lives? Or is this an object of desire, and nothing more? Zepp n Zepp is an amusing look at how we all try to define meaning in our lives. The two brothers are endearing characters that inspire one another to lunacy and ridiculousness, but through it all they never forget the love they share and the journey that defines them.
Fundraising
We are hoping to aim around £3000 for our film budget. We feel that £3000 will be a great amount for us to cast some great actors and shoot our film entirely on location. All the money raised will go towards every aspect of the film and nowhere else. We have a small budget from our University but unfortunately it is simply not enough and we hope that by receiving donations will improve every aspect of our filmmaking process
