Short Summary

Good Day
With the consensus agreement of the 2015 United Nations Climate Change ConferenceCOP 21 or CMP 11 held in Paris, France, from 30 November to 12 December 2015; this seems the most apropos time to launch my "Green" vehicle engine campaign.  I will start with a brief career overview.  I have completed 35 years of Canadian Military service within which I was a Project Officer for 8 years conducting Tests and Evaluations of Military aircraft systems.  After retirement from the military my wife and I purchased a small business where we turned around a company that was last in sales in the district, of 13 like stores, to become number one in sales in five years.
This campaign is important to me as the funds will be utilized to develop an energy system which will ELIMINATE automobile CO2 emissions contributing to Global Warming (ranges of 53-164 tons of CO2 per vehicle).  By eliminating these CO2 gases (plus others) we will help contribute to a better world for my, and your, children and grand-children. My 'Zero Emissions Self-Sustaining Engine' (ZESSE) [Patent Pending] will do just that.

What We Need & What You Get

Funding Required: to date I have contributed approximately $10,000 to my project and have set a goal of reaching $500,000+.  Once the engineering team and infrastructure is in place, I have set a time-line of 3-6 months for complete vehicle build and test.  This funding will be used for the Development team wages, Business expenses; Prototype Engines, "Glider vehicle", vehicle construction, Test & Evaluation, and trade show expenses.

Perks will be a ZESSE T-shirt for those able to contribute $100, or more, (a base limit is set due to purchase/delivery costs involved).

Any funds collected will be put towards the development and testing of the ZESSE engine even if the entire goal is not reached.  It will come to life; the more funding received, the faster ZESSE can become a reality and the sooner we can start cleaning up the air we are breathing.

The Impact

Major factors for supporting my goal are two-fold; first is the monetary savings you will personally receive.  The average vehicle operating expenses, gas/oil etc, range from a compact car driving 12,000km/yr at $1,743.60 - to a large SUV driving 32,000km/yr at $5,334.40 {CAA DATA}.  This money could be in YOUR wallet - "Never Pay For Fuel Again".  Secondly you will have the knowledge you are contributing to the elimination of one of the major causes of air pollution and Global Warming.   Even plug-in electric vehicles create pollution - they just off-load it to the power stations which have to produce more energy to meet the demands (see statement from U.S. Dept of Energy, below).

Comparing Well-to-Wheel Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Compare greenhouse gas emissions and fuel costs for a selection of common conventional and electric drive vehicles for a 100-mile trip in the table below.

Emissions and Fuel Cost for a 100-mile trip
Vehicle
(compact sedans)
Greenhouse Gas Emissions
(pounds of CO2 equivalent)
Total Fuel Cost
(U.S. Dollars)
Conventional 99 lb CO2 $11.60
Hybrid Electric 51 lb CO2 $5.96
Plug-in Hybrid Electric 61 lb CO2 $6.78
All-Electric 54 lb CO2 $3.56

My engine design has ZERO EMISSIONS and is SELF-SUSTAINING, so there is no off-load to the power grid.

Risks & Challenges

The ZESSE design was developed on the same principle of the Nuclear Submarine power system, I selected this system due to it's unique closed-cycle design.  There are two major changes.  It is obviously scaled down to fit within the confines of a vehicle engine compartment and, most-importantly, the 'Nuclear' aspect has been eliminated. To replace the 'Nuclear' functional duties, I have incorporated Microwave emitters similar in nature to the Microwave oven you use on a daily basis.  These two proven technologies have been in world-wide use for decades. The challenges that lay ahead are funding and, Engineering the fine-tuning aspects of combining these two technologies into an effective and efficient manner.  I do not see this challenge as insurmountable as Design and Testing will be conducted utilizing CAD (Computer Aided Design) software before actual construction becomes a reality.  I believe my military and business background give me the experience and business acumen to bring ZESSE to life.

Other Ways You Can Help

All levels of contributions are important but there are some people who just can't contribute on a monetary level, that doesn't mean you can't help.  I would ask that you help by getting the word out via your social media contacts, friends and family.  The more people in the know, the better chances of achieving funding success.
Check out my web site at "Zesse.ca" or "ZessePowerSystems.com" to view the proposed test vehicle for Zesse and to view a short animation on how Zesse will operate.

As a reminder you can utilize the Indiegogo share tools!

I know your time is valuable and I appreciate that you have taken this time to view my project.

Footnote:  I have recently viewed a film "Racing Extinction", which gives an extremely good overview of the damage we, as a species, are doing to our planet.  It is well worth the two hours to view this documentary.  Become aware of what is actually happening and the short time-line we are under to try to avert disaster.
