What would you do to put up the hen-do of dreams for your bestie?
Accept an internship in a beach paradise?
Working for your estranged father and your deceitful ex?
Well, Karyn said yes to both, and to compensate for everything that's thrown in her way, she decides to steal some prototype hi-tech bikinis from her dad's company for a test run with her friends. But daddy’s famous for cutting corners when it comes to bikini safety, and the ex is actively covering up development mistakes. So faulty swimwear a party island, sun, sea cocktails - what could POSSIBLY go wrong?
Well, read the title again and take a wild guess ;)
Zombikini, starring horror icons Laurence R. Harvey and Dani Thompson, and directed by zombie specialist Jason Wright - the zombie beach movie that genre fans have been waiting for!!!
"As the title suggests," says director Jason Wright, "this is no ordinary zombie film. You can expect to find zombies in bikinis… but why? Why are there zombies in bikinis? You will have to watch to find out!"
The story for Zombikini was conceived a few years back by Jason, and an essence trailer highlighting the bikini brand shown in the movie was shot (see at the top of this campaign), then screenwriting duties were handed over to screenwriter Lisa Edwards (more about her below), "who has done an incredible job of fleshing my idea out and making it a full length feature that we can now, with your help, bring to your screens," says Wright. "The film is special in that it has some twists and turns that you may not expect. I very much wanted to ensure the film has a story behind it and isn’t just girls in bikinis, which people may be expecting. But, you can expect a captivating plotline, with comedy elements, a bit of science, and most importantly a good amount of zombie gore and blood!"

Who We Are
Our producer/director Jason Wright’s dedication to the zombie genre is second to none, as not only has he done several zombie features (Acid Pit Stop, Zombie Wars, The House that Zombies Built), shorts (Zombie Boot Camp, Infected, Zombie Playground: Ice Cream), and promo videos (Resident Evil 6, Fear the Living Dead, Walker Stalker London), he also runs the webzine Digital Dead, and he’s the organizer of zombie-themed events of all kinds, from zombie walks to zombie booths to, yes, zombie weddings – so it’s safe to say, he’s got some zombie blood in his veins, and with him at the helm you’re sure to get top shelve zombie entertainment.
Our writer Lisa Edwards completed The Script Factory's well-regarded training in script reading in 2007. She applied her new skills to improve her own storytelling, going on to write over a hundred comic strip stories for DC Thomson's Wendy magazine. She was a finalist at the Stratford-upon-Avon Fringe Festival in 2012, where her play, The Confetti Job, was performed at the Attic Theatre. Her first horror feature was a low budget indie called Siren Song, which led to more horror film commissions, including the anthology film Zombie Wars, the upcoming feature Mannequin, and other projects currently in development.
On our board of producers are Kirsty Richardson and Michael Haberfelner.
Kirsty has handled most of Jason Wright's movies including Acid Pit Stop, Zombie Wars and Mannequin.
Michael worked with Jason on Mannequin, as well as producing movies based on several of his own scripts, including There's No Such Thing as Zombies and Talk of the Dead.
What We Need & What You Get
There's nobody more passionate about making a great zombie movie in all of Essex, maybe all of the UK, than us - but unfortunately one cannot make a film on passion and good will alone, we also need the right equipment and locations, our cast and crew need food and housing, heck even our zombies need makeup (those vain bastards). And that, naturally, leaves us a bit short on the monetary side, so we're raising funds to cover costs of food, drinks, props, materials, writers, cast, crew and so much more. Every little bit helps, from £1 up, so please donate what you can and let‘s make this film project happen.
Risks & Challenges
Time and again, we as a team have proven that we can make (and release) a feature film, so we are more than qualified to see through the production of a movie from beginning to end - so we would love to say this is risk-free, as we're determined to the teeth to make this movie ... but if the last couple of years and a certain pandemic (through which we have made The House That Zombies Built) have taught us anything, it's to expect the unexpected. But unless bad comes to worse and then some, we WILL see this movie through, as making zombie movies is in our blood!!!
Other Ways You Can Help
Yes we do understand that money can occasionally be a bit on the tight side - heck, we're filmmakers, other than making movies the occasional lack of funds is also in our blood. So if you really want to help but are strapped for cash, why not share our campaign on all social media you can think of - and then some more you have only just googled and are surprised they exist. And tell your friends and family, and heck, even strangers about it incessantly. Paint a mural with the campaign link onto your house front, spray the link onto planes, trains and automobiles, print out flyers to hand out to passers-by - in short, there are millions of ways to help if you're as passionate about raising the dead as we are - and a big thank you for that in advance!!!
