Freelance Aesthetic: an interdisciplinary artist who likes to paint, print, write, photograph, sing, volunteer for community service, and enjoy life.
I've been a professional artist since the 1970's. In 2004 I went back to school to earn my MFA in Interdisciplinary Art from Goddard College and graduated in 2006. <br>My work as a painter has been exhibited at The Philips Collection, Washington, DC, The Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, DC, Radio City Music Hall, New York, NY, and commercial galleries in USA and Shanghai, CN. An example of my fine art portrait work hangs in The President’s Collection at William & Mary College, Williamsburg, VA. My teaching credits include: associate professor of artistic anatomy at the Corcoran School of Art, Washington, DC, and adjunct instructor of anatomy at The New York Academy of Fine Arts, New York, NY. I am the recipient of two National Endowment For The Arts awards for an inter-arts project Crayons and Horns. Highlights of my illustration career include working for NBC -TV News and The Washington Post as a courtroom artist. My illustrations have been published in The Smithsonian Magazine, and The Nature Conservancy has published my work as a writer and photographer. Born in Yorktown, VA, I have lived in Washington, DC, New York City, and moved to Portland OR in 2009.<br>Currently I am a member of Atelier Meridian Print Studio in PDX, the Managing Editor for Portland Open Studios 2011 Tour Guide, president of the Oregon Women's Caucus for Art, and I curate Art & Tao exhibitions for The Taoist Center, Portland. I enjoy my solitude as an individual artist as well as enjoying collaborating with others and volunteering in the greater community.<br><br><br>
