Why the GlowSaber?

I am first and foremost a computer programmer and a lover of science fiction. I have also been fascinated by science and technology. I created the GlowSaber as a prop for a Halloween costume and I realized that kids may learn a lot about physics, specially electricity and electronics while building one. The hilt design is simple and pleasing and will allow customization by their builders. They will also learn about microprocessors and how to program them to make fun designs.
