Lisa Marie Simmons is a singer/songwriter with Ropeadope, poet, and essayist (Huffington Post, Boston Globe, Kweli Literary Journal). She performed and spoke at the Conference on World Affairs in 2018 and released the first NoteSpeak album in 2019, later receiving a four-star review from Downbeat. Her 2023 critically acclaimed album NoteSpeak 12 received five stars from Downbeat. Simmons also performed at the Venice Biennale and was honored as an Artist in Residence at SUNY Oneonta.
