A refreshing splash of patriotism.

We're Mike & Lori.

Co-directors and producers of a 'get out the vote' project called America for President. It's a series of five-minute, TV and web segments that features ordinary Americans of every political stripe, from every part of America, as President.

Yeah, it's crazy alright. At least that's what our friends and bosses said when we quit our jobs as advertising creative directors to do it. But what choice do you have when you've got a huge crush on your democracy and you feel it's in danger?

America is out there somewhere.

One night we got to talking and realized that somewhere beyond politics and politicians, beyond the division and derision, beyond PACs, super and otherwise, there’s America.

A republic of reasonably thoughtful, caring, intelligent people who want what’s best for America, not what’s best for any one political party. People who are turned off by the vitriol and tuning out.

How do you turn people on and tune them in?

Well, we thought, maybe we could drum up some 'voting love' by giving people a voice. Getting them involved. Making it personal. Making them, well, President of the United States. So we bought a copy of the Oval Office desk and we’re rolling across the nation with it.

At every stop, we’re letting folks take a seat as Commander-in-Chief and asking them to tell us what they’d accomplish in the next four years. Giving them a forum to share with us the America they love, their dreams, their talents, their stories.

Of, by, for the people.

We thought America for President might be a fresh and entertaining way to remind each other that 'we the government' and 'we the people' are one and the same. That it might unite us behind the ideals of our democracy and help us remember that it's a good thing to take an active and vital role in our democracy.

Who are these guys?

Besides rabid patriots hungry for a truly inclusive democracy, Mike is an art director, designer, film and animation director. I'm a copywriter and published children's book author.

Together, we've created global advertising campaigns for everything from Bacardi Rum to Burger King, Atlantic Records to Revlon.

We've worked really hard over the years to create campaigns that entertain people, that respect their intelligence and, well, reward them for their attention.

Now we're using everything we've learned over the years to promote something very close to our hearts: an America to take pride in, expect more from; one that is governed in the best interests of its people.

Hey, it's a living. Well, not really. That's why we need your help!
