Nsoroma Institute Co-founder Malik Yakini

In 1989, along with seven others, I was a founder of Nsoroma Institute. I had the sacred honor of serving as the school's director from 1990 - 2011. Through Black Star Educational Management, I still play a role in managing the school. I currently serve as executive director of the Detroit Black Community Food Security Network ( DBCFSN). In many ways, DBCFSN grew out of, and was an extension of, the food security initiatives at Nsoroma Institute.
