Oscar Fuentes is a performance artist from Miami, and the front man for The Oscar Fuentes Combo, a musical project where he blends his original beat-poetry with a five member Latin fusion band. The Combo consists of Paloma Duenas on vocals, Deryl Speilman on drums, Carl Ferrari and Andrew Logan on electric guitar, Henry Raja on bass guitar and poetry by Oscar Fuentes. Community-based artist Oscar Fuentes has been sharing his talents and love for the arts for over 18 years. Oscar's style is autobiographical, energetic, and it holds rhythmic elements, pleasant to the ears and eyes. His Poetry, short stories, and short films have been mentioned in articles, and published in journals such as Accent Miami, Absent Cause, Immizen.com, Art Basel Miami, and Get Underground.com. Oscar's most powerful contribution as a community artist, was with Art for Learning Miami where he literally changed and enhanced the lives of at risk youth as a playwright and theatre teaching artist.
