I was a terrible spendthrift in high school. Every paycheck I got was spent before I cashed it. I went to college to become a teacher but after I graduated I enrolled in the AmeriCorps VISTA program and ended up developing a curriculum to teach teens about financial management! After using our curriculum in the Syracuse City Schools for a few years we realized that to be effective with teens teaching is not enough. We had to provide hands on learning with In-School Savings Branches.
