This is my Bio

Adam Wile is graduate of the California Institute of the Arts where he received his Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance. He has danced professionally with NugentDance and Ishmael Houston Jones in Los Angeles and with Wild Space Dance Company in Milwaukee. He recently presented his choreography in an evening-length program at PieterPASD in Los Angeles.
While choreographing at CalArts, Adam has focused on the themes of overstimulation, arrogance, masculinity, narcissism, individuality versus conformity, and the power of influence. As his exploration has intensified, he has discovered that conclusions become elusive, as a deeper understanding inevitably uncovers new dimensions and the need for more exploration. When Adam presents his dances, it is his
wish that we all consider the people around us and reflect on how and why we relate to them.
Adam Wile was born and raised in New York State but did not begin to dance until his junior year in high school at the Putney School in Vermont. Under the guidance of Kalya Yannatos, Adam learned to avoid stylistic stereotypes and to approach dance from his own experience.
Prior to attending CalArts, Adam studied at Goucher College, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Peck School of the Arts, Dance New Amsterdam, and American Dance Festival. His instructors, including Ishmael Houston-Jones, Daniel Clifton, Heather McArdle, Oliver Steele, Ferne Caulker, Dani Kuepper, and Luc Vanier among others helped to shape and intensify his passion for dance. During his time at the Peck School of the Arts, Adam traveled with Professor Simone Ferro and fellow dance students to Northeastern Brazil to study Bumba-meu-boi, Capoeira, and Brazilian contemporary dance. A semester hiatus spent in New York City allowed him to intern at Movement Research and to study shiatsu at Ohashiatsu and yoga at Bikram Yoga and Jivamukti Yoga.
Adam is delighted and honored to accept the Runner-Up to First Place in the 2011 Emerging Choreographer HARC Award competition. He would also like to extend his gratitude to Professor Johnny Turtle/Tree Turtle for his unwavering support and guidance over the years. Johnny has served as Adam’s dance/arts advisor, mentor, and friend and has inspired him to commit himself to artistic integrity. A final thank you is offered to Adam's mother and father who have supported and encouraged him since infancy.
