<p><strong>Alvarez Kings are a prominent band in the Sheffield music scene who recently played at the famed SXSW festival in Texas and Isle Of Wight Festival.</strong><strong><br /> <br /> </strong>Famed for their energetic live shows and charismatic performances the self acclaimed PROGRESSIVE POP band have been tipped by many as the next big thing to break out of Yorkshire. It is this live show that has garnered them nationwide media attention, with NME describing them as having “bucket-loads of attitude with cut-throat guitar riffs and a gritty charm” and The Guardian saying “Sheffield's Alvarez Kings are a must see. Their energetic progressive pop sound will get everyone dancing.”<br /> <br /> Their local reputation and success has gained them two major coveted awards. They recently won "Best Band" at the Toast Magazine Awards and "Best Live Band" at the Sheffield Scenester Awards.<br /> <br /> Their debut single, The Sequel, was released in March 2010 and went on to sell out within a few weeks.<br /> <br /> The second release, Patience Is Strength EP, was released recently on 11th April 2011 featuring 5 tracks which again went on to sell out. This release was supported by a two week European tour taking in countries such as Germany, Italy, and Switzerland.</p> <p>This year the press have touted Alvarez Kings as the next break out band from their native South Yorkshire with a new EP Cold Conscience released on 18th June. This was backed by another two week European tour taking in Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium and France.</p>
