Hello!

Hi! My name is Ya'Shalan Nelson "Yaya" and I'm a Bay Area-born writer-director, currently based in Sacramento, CA. From an early age, I saw film as labor of creative collaboration, and deeply desired to be a part of narrative story-telling. During high school, I was introduced to digital art and video through the Community MultiMedia Academy. I loved it right away and continued my practice while transitioning into college. I've always believed it's my destiny to create stories with a purpose.
