In 2014, I was a private-practice veterinarian heartbroken by seeing owners and pets forced to say goodbye due to the high cost of veterinary care. I knew there was another way, and that’s when I found Mission—a fledgling animal hospital striving to keep pets and their owners together. Within months, I purchased the practice and converted it into a nonprofit resource dedicated to the vision of providing high-quality care to all animals, regardless of their owners’ ability to pay.
