<p class="p1">Sasha deBeausset was born and raised in Guatemala and is passionate about entrepreneurial solutions to food security and malnutrition issues in her home country. At 17, he was awarded a scholarship to attend Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong, after which she deferred her acceptance to Tufts and returned to Guatemala to work as with Los Patojos a start-up NGO that addresses educational disparities in in Jocotenango, Guatemala and to co-found a youth leadership movement and forum. At Tufts, she was the co-director of BUILD, an organization of the Institute for Global leadership that leads agricultural and educational development initiatives in rural areas of Guatemala and India. She was also the Undergraduate Coordinator for the Empower Program for Social Entrepreneurship. She recieved highest honors on her Senior Honors Thesis on the role of maize in forming and maintaining community in Indigenous Guatemala. She is currently the Program Director of Maní+, working on everything from producing the product, to coordinating with private and public entities, to fundraising. Sasha has a degree in Anthropology and a minor in Entrepreneurial Leadership Studies from Tufts University.</p>
