I have been a councillor on our small City council for 18 years.
I am very community oriented and like to help others any way I can. It is my way of giving back for the many benefits I have received in my life. When the story of this little girl was brought to my attention, I felt I had to do something. So soon after the kidnapping of the 200 girls in Nigeria, where I had felt helpless and hopeless, I believed i could make a difference for at least one little girl. I am a mother and a grandmother and if I were unable to help my family, I hope someone would.
