Blue Lantern Studio

I'm a self-taught painter, printmaker and collage artist. Born in New Westminster, I was raised and live in Vancouver, BC (Canada). My art reflects my passion for BC’s coastal ecosystems.

My artwork has been exhibited in Canada and the United States, including the Diane Farris Gallery (Vancouver), Seymour Art Gallery (North Vancouver), Britannia Art Gallery (Vancouver), Crafthouse Gallery (Vancouver), Exchanges Artist-Run Gallery (Victoria), and the Koffler Centre for the Arts (Toronto).

In July 2012, I was awarded a commission by Vancity Credit Union to create original artwork for its redesigned South Burnaby Branch. In 2011 and 2009, I received Downtown Eastside Artist Grants, funded by the Vancouver Foundation. In 2004, I received an artist fellowship from the Earthwatch Institute to create artwork about the diversity of plants, animals, birds and insects that support salmon-bearing streams in Washington State.

I teach art workshops from my studio, curate exhibitions, and give presentations on the intersections between art and science. I am an artist member of the Craft Council of BC and an artist member and Vice-Chair of the Eastside Culture Crawl Society. I am also a professional writer, with a degree in journalism from Carleton University in Ottawa.

On a more personal note, I'm a mother of a beautiful 6 year old. I'm a dedicated vegan (12+ years). I love to cook and bake, go beachcoming and play with lego.
