Since 2013, Y-LLEAD (Youth Learning Lab of Education and Applied Design) has been growing our roots as a youth-led learning village using design as a tool for empowering Baltimore City youth through community engagement, social justice education, creative process development, youth leadership development, and basic entrepreneurship development. Y-LLEAD was founded by designer, community activator, social innovator, and entrepreneur Melissa Moore with assistance from a 2013 Open Society Institute
