Evacuate Me from Radioactive Japan!

My name is Umi Hagitani, and I am an anti-nukes activist who have been active in California since March 11th's Fukushima nuclear accident. I’ve helped build a powerful anti-nuclear organizing network on the west coast and begun building international grassroots collaboration around these issues.

My work visa is recently expired. I am currently in Japan while I attempt to apply for another visa. I need funding to apply for a new internship visa for another year and half in order to keep my anti-nuclear activism through No Nukes Action. I am also offered an internship at Japan Pacific Resource Network (JPRN) where we will provide support the struggles of immigrants in North East disaster stricken area through bridging the US and Japan grassroots activism. Please help me stay in the United States for another year and a half to solidify these projects so they can continue to thrive and flourish without me. To these ends, I need to raise $5,000 to cover (most of) the costs of renewing my visa, and to do this I need your help! Please contribute to my efforts, a little bit helps, a lot is incredible!

Please see the video above, and some links to my recent works and media appearance.

No Nukes Action Committee

http://nonukesaction.wordpress.com/

Japan--Fissures in the Planetary Apparatus

http://www.jfissures.org/

May 22nd, 2012 "Nuclear Hotseat"

http://www.nuclearhotseat.com/nuclear-hotseat-49-umi-hagitani-the-japan-connection-and-nrcs-jaczko-resigns/

May23rd, 2012 "Flashpoint" (From 4:44)

http://archives.kpfa.org/data/20120523-Wed1700.mp3

Japan Multicultural Relief Fund

http://relief.jprn.org/

You can help me out also by:

Ask folks to get the word out and make some noise about your campaign.

Remind them to use the Indiegogo share tools!

Join the facebook event page for this campaign!: https://www.facebook.com/events/118425694973842/

To those ends, I'm trying to raise money to cover visa costs, and other legal fees.
