McCue is a poet who has published two collections: The Bled and The Stenographer's Breakfast, and a prose writer whose The Car That Brought You Here Still Runs is a mash up memoir, travelogue, literary analysis and poetry book. She is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Washington and a strategic partner of Creative Ground.
