Be a part of the making of my second album!

FINALLY.......Spring's thaw. It creaks and groans, as the ice tinkles and heaves, as the sun graciously returns and the sleepy people of the North emerge from a wintry hibernation.  I am blessed enough to be one of those people, stretching into the late-night sun with fistfuls of songs waiting to be sung to you.  Creative juices have been stewing all winter, and as the river starts to rush again, recording must be finished! WHO I AMI am an award-winning word-weaver, song stringer, string plucker and finger snapper based in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, on the Great Slave Lake.  I am recording my second album in a lovely studio tucked into the Yukon woods, in Whitehorse.  My first album, <a href="http://itunes.apple.com/ca/artist/dana-sipos/id330689665" title="The Moonshine Brigade" target="" style="color: rgb(255, 0, 87); text-decoration: none; ">The Moonshine Brigade</a>, was also recorded in Whitehorse with the help of the NWT Arts Council (which was much appreciated).  I went on to tour the album across most corners of Canada, and represented the North in various capacities; I was selected to represent the NWT for the 2009 CBC Canadian Songquest (<a href="http://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/cbc-radio-2s-great-canadian/id342127202" title="check it out here" target="" style="color: rgb(255, 0, 87); text-decoration: none; ">check it out here</a>), and was commissioned to write a song about the Pingo's in Tuktoyaktuk, which was great fun.  <a href="http://www.myspace.com/video/laurence/dana-sipos-at-the-great-canadian-song-quest/102521643" title="Watch and listen here." target="" style="color: rgb(255, 0, 87); text-decoration: none; ">Watch and listen here</a>.  I was a featured performer in the Northern House at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, represented the NT in the CBC True North Concert series in Iqaluit, Nunavut, performed at the Dawson City Music Festival, Yukon and showcased the North at the Northern Lights Tradeshow in Montreal, to name some.Spring's thaw... its creaks. and groans, as the ice tinkles and heaves, as the sun graciously returns and the sleepy people of the North emerge from a wintry hibernation.  THE NEW ALBUMI have been fortunate enough to receive funding from the NWT Arts Council as well as the Yukon Film and Sound Commission for this project.  That helped to cover some of the $3,500 it has cost thus far for studio rental, recording time, production expertise and to pay a fair price to the very talented, working musicians playing on the album. The recording is almost done, but not quite.  As you probably know, there are lots of other expenses involved in getting an album from my head and lips to your hands.
