<span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: separate; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Calibri, Arial, Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 20px; "><p style="text-align: left; ">With a passion for art and creativity, and the ability to produce meaningful projects that inspire and uplift, James Bland is recognized as an emerging actor and filmmaker with great promise, integrity of purpose and imaginative vision.</p><p style="text-align: left; "><br></p><p style="text-align: left; ">Born and raised in Titusville, Florida, James attended Florida A&amp;M University where he was heavily involved in social activism, student politics and film production.&nbsp;Through out his college matriculation, James worked as an actor, writer and producer on an edgy, student produced, and often controversial television drama series that dealt with heavy college-specific social issues. He later went on to write and direct his fist feature film,&nbsp;<em>Dreaming in Color</em>, during the last semester of his senior year.</p><p style="text-align: left; "><br></p><p style="text-align: left; ">Upon graduating from Florida A&amp;M with a degree in Business Administration, James made the leap of faith to Los Angeles to further his career ambitions. His first production opportunity came working on the Sony Screen Gems film&nbsp;<em>Takers</em>&nbsp;as an intern to producer Will Packer. He went on to work on several other Screen Gems films (<em>Death at a Funeral&nbsp;</em>and&nbsp;<em>Priest</em>) as a production assistant and then spent a year on the film&nbsp;<em>Burlesque</em>&nbsp;working under Creative Executive and Senior VP Scott Strauss.</p><p style="text-align: left; "><br></p><p style="text-align: left; ">In 2010, James wrote and directed the award winning short film&nbsp;<em>Cocoa Love</em>&nbsp;that made its way around the country on the film festival circuit. It competed in close to 10 festivals, won Best Comedy at the Urban Mediamakers Film Festival, and aired on the season 2 finale of BET Lens on Talent.</p><p style="text-align: left; "><br></p><p style="text-align: left; ">Following the success of&nbsp;<em>Cocoa Love</em>, James joined forces with his college friend Vanessa Baden and formed Hometeam Entertainment which is a film, television and music production company where James currently serves as Co-President. The first project to be released under the Hometeam banner is the web series&nbsp;<em>FAIL</em>; a comedy that chronicles the random misadventures of six college students struggling to pass a class they never end up studying for. James plays the role of Jones, a dim-witted athlete, on the show and also serves as one of the Executive Producers.</p></span>
