Jino Kang

San Francisco, California, United States

It's all in the mind.

Martial Arts - Jino is a martial artist and just a really sweet guy (at least his wife and 2 year old daughter say so). Jino was born on the mat and the legacy of martial arts runs through him from his father, The Grand Master. Jino has trained and annointed several hundred black belts over the past 30 years and continues to do so at his black belt training academy, Hapkido USA, in San Francisco.

Film Maker - A while back (way back!), Jino won a Star Search competition and landed a part in an upcoming movie. The movie was made, but he never knew what happened to it (very typical of indie films). However, the acting bug bit him, real hard. He wanted to do it all, so he enrolled at College of Marin, which had a great film department at the time. At Marin he learned his filmmaking chops using and working on actual film - shooting on film, editing on film and finishing on film. Learning on film taught him to be economical in production and efficient and sensible on how a film got made - squeezing a dollar out of every quarter in the budget!

Fist 2 Fist Wins Awards - Jino's latest film got 5 nominations and won 2 of them at Action on Film, International Film Festival, including "Best Action Sequence in a Feature film". It also won praise from critics in Europe and Asia. "Fist 2 Fist" was picked up, sold and distributed in Europe, Asia and in the United States and Canada. Jino's goal in filmmaking is to have a great story, solid acting and fantastic action/choreography (of the martial arts variety, of course). He's ready to make "Weapon Of Choice" his best one yet.
