Fine Art Photographer

I am currently a senior a the Santa Fe University of Art and Design, pursuing my BFA in Photography. (will be graduating May 2012!)

I have been working on the body of work titled "A Transformation of Flesh" for more than 3 years now. I cover my models in a few layers of paint and photograph areas of their bodies where identity can be obscured. The detail of the cracked paint combines with the shape of the body to create something harshly foreign, yet still reminiscent of a human form.

See the work here: http://helenmaringer.com/<span id="editable-post-name" title="Temporary permalink. Work is juried from submissions we recieve. Issue #1 - Evidence of Home - will come out in May and Issue #2 - Most of Us Die - has a submission deadline of June 1.
