Ty Strickler

<p>Ty Strickler is a 2010 Cinematic Arts MFA graduate of the University of Southern California and currently serves as the Program Coordinator for the University of Southern California Summer Film School Program.</p> <p>Hailing from Harrisonburg, Virginia, Strickler began working with the film department on the production of <em>Evan Almighty</em> in 2006 and moved to Los Angeles to complete the project. He also worked for Tom Shadyac at Shady Acres Entertainment on the Universal back lot.</p> <p>A Leopold Schepp Scholar, Ty has created the behind the scenes packages for<em> Ghost Whisperer&rsquo;s, The Other Side</em> and worked on the production pipeline of <em>Kung Fu Panda II</em> at DreamWorks Animation SKG.</p> <p>Ty has brought public awareness to the plight of children and families residing in Africa. He wrote and directed&nbsp;<em>The Branches of the Vine</em>, a documentary for a non-profit group that supplies wells for clean water for rural inhabitants in the remote areas of Ghana, West Africa. The film received distinguished recognition from the Embassy of Ghana, the Archbishop of West Africa, and earned a Telly Award for Social Awareness.</p> <p>Ty&rsquo;s latest non-profit work spotlights the children orphaned by AIDS in Kenya. The orphanage is supported by critically acclaimed Director Jon Turteltaub and his wife, Producer Amy Eldon Turteltaub.</p>
