You may have some connection to me as: Projects Editor for MAKE magazine (2006-present); author of The VJ Book (2005); Section Editor for Wired magazine (1999-2001); author of The Re/Search Guide to Bodily Fluids (1999, 1994); Partner at Infobahn (1993-1998); Software Engineer at ViewStar (1990-1992); Computer Scientist at Advanced Decision Systems (1986-1990); BA in Computer Science from Columbia (1986); Art Editor at Jester college humor magazine (1984-1986); member of the bands Joe Schmoe (late 90’s-early 00’s), The Mighty Vegetable Sled (late 80’s?), Blue Larue (1986-7?), and the college a capella group The Kingsmen (1983-1986), Palo Alto High School (1978-1982), Paul Revere Junior High School (1976-1978), Brentwood Elementary School (1970-1976).

I am also a part-time, work-at-home (read: unshowered and unshaven) father of two toddlers who frequents the playgrounds in and around the San Francisco neighborhood of Cole Valley. I love burritos, biking as everyday transportation, and Ultimate Frisbee.

I’ve been interested in micro investment ever since my teen years, when I thought it should be legal for people to invest in my assorted schemes. In 1993, to this aim, I created the unsuccessful website Premises, Premises. Last year I wrote about Cultural Speculation and Crowdfunded Securities as a guestblogger for boingboing.
