Growing up in the suburbs of Los Angeles, I was as unspecifically happy and inexplicably sad as every privileged teenager on the planet, but the universe gave me a gift--parents who fostered my creativity. Earning my degree in Dramaturgy from Carnegie Mellon, I studied playwriting, philosophy, gender, adaptation, and historiography—all to grasp the power of storytelling. This is my gift; to find lost stories, salvage them from the depths, and forbid them to be forgotten.
