I am the director of R&D for Human Innovations, LLC (HILLC). HILLC is a small health and biomedical technology startup. Discovering the "DiscoStick(TM)" was a complete detour from the company’s original focus.

I started out in environmental chemistry and later worked in neuroscience research. The "Internet" played a significant role in providing solutions to research problems and dilemmas. It was this realization of the impact of the Internet that led me to leave research in 1995 to co-found Internet Technologies, Inc. (INTTEK® & RecordingPRO®). 15 years later, after realizing INTTEK® could run fine without me, I returned to my original interests in biochemistry and nutrition. In 2010 we launched Human Innovations. Now things have taken yet another interesting twist.

I studied biochemistry & nutrition at UNC Chapel Hill and later studied computer science at UNC Wilmington. For over 34 years, I have been involved with martial arts, qigong, Asian & western massage, and other healing methods. I have been fortunate to have known and studied under some extraordinary people in those areas.

My wife, Wendy and I live in Carolina Beach, NC. We are avid fans of Argentine Tango. We also hope to learn to surf.

So how did we get here?

I originally developed this technology to help Wendy. We experienced a tragedy I would not wish on anyone. In the final stage of pregnancy, she somehow contracted an antibiotic resistant bacteria. We did not know what was happening, until it was too late. We lost our son Lucas. Wendy had spent two years in and out of hospitals fighting for her life. Years later, she still was dealing with scarring and tissue adhesions from the emergency c-section surgery. I did not want her to have to endure another surgery, and was on a mission to figure out how to avoid it. I finally found a solution that seems to have resolved her problem. The method’s "side effect" was completely unexpected.

Initially, we were not going to release it for just the "side effect". However, after realizing how much it can help women enjoy this wonderful part of life, we decided it was worth the risk.

The extreme varieties of personal reactions from both women and men have motivated us to create this project. Realizing that a book or documentary would just be snapshots of the few who volunteered, we decided to create a social networking site where everyone could provide input.

We are funding this through Indiegogo for 2 reasons:

(1) We want this to clearly express what happens and not be influenced by possible outside commercial interest. We do have a few "Commercial Sponsor" Perks. However, those are for one-page ads in the book. These “Commercial Perks” are also not to influence the responses from the Ladies nor the artistic expression of the book.

(2) We need your input and help. This book will only be a small sampling of women who volunteered. It cannot possibly capture the full scope of all women. You can help by participating, and telling others to join the network. This way we can get a more "real" representation of what it means to be a woman today.

We sincerely appreciate your support and participation with this project!
