Matamba Kombila
Libreville, Gabon
I come from an environment of thousand realities where the spirit world is an integral part of life, and oral tradition society's foundation.
I am a self-taught writress-directress with a past career as events productress in the fashion industry. I trained as a scenic artist on Tanya Hamilton's "Night Catches Us" shoot, and fine tuned my filmmaking skills at Ela Thier's "Independent Film School". I have written, directed and produced twelve short films so far, one of which won two awards. I also produce fellow filmmaker friends’ work. I explore ways to bridge the old and the new to create integrative more just communities.
