<p>Lou Lesko is a writer and director who started as a fashion photographer in San Francisco. He graduated from the writing program at the University of Southern California, and then worked as a photojournalist for two years starting with an assignment in the Soviet Union. After getting his journalism chops he went back to the fashion industry where he stayed as a photographer for a very long stint. In 1999 he wrote and directed a public service announcement for breast cancer awareness which served as an entry point for the chaos of Hollywood.</p> <p>He currently develops media projects with his producing partner Michael Britt at their production company Photocine Media. He is also the managing editor at the National Geographic Assignment Blog and the founder of Blinkbid, business software for creative professionals.</p> <p>In 2012 <em>writer</em> Kimberley Lovato and <em>photographer</em> Lou Lesko won the <em>Lowell Thomas Award for Travel Journalism</em> for their book Walnut Wine & Truffle Groves.</p> <p>Lou lives in California with his amazing girlfriend Emily.</p>
