"He who saves a single soul, saves the world entire" - Schindler's List

LAUREN S. HENRY, an east coast transplant to Los Angeles, graduate of Syracuse University’s Musical Theater/Drama Program & T.V. Radio, Film Production from the Newhouse School of Communications. She also taught K-6 in the MD/No.VA School Systems for 4 years & in 2002, she found a way to combine her five passions: art, kids, psychology, writing and performance, & founded her company, With a Brush of Love.
Lauren is a Color/Design Expert & uses a wide variety of techniques to elicit desired psychological responses through strategic environmental design. (say that 3 times fast!) Her primary focus are children diagnosed w/ autism & other special needs, who are significantly more sensitive to sensory elements that surround us every day. With a Brush of Love combines various sensory elements crafting the most optimal surroundings for her client. The effect is to pacify those who are overly agitated or aggressive, stimulate the withdrawn, or improve focus & concentration, which dramatically increases one’s ability to succeed in all areas, both scholastically & socially.
Over the past eight years, Lauren’s been a featured designer on HGTV’s “kidspace” & a contributing designer on ABC’s ”Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,”(apparently, no one’s as tall as they seem!)
While her work is mainly residential, it extends to schools & hospitals such as D.C. Children’s National Medical Center& St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Her artwork has been featured at The James Gray Galleryin Bergamot Station in Santa Monica, CA. She was also awarded the Customer Service “Rave Reviews Award” as one of the Top 10 Best Service Oriented Companies from the Washington Business Journal.

Lauren was invited by the Exceptional Family Member Program(a U.S. military organization supporting families w/ children diagnosed w/ special needs) in Okinawa, Japan, to re-design a bedroom for a family on base. Hands On Tokyo, an International volunteer program, invited her to over-see the renovation of a local orphanage as well! (whew!)

Most recently, she published her first book, “Unique Kids. Unique Surroundings.” – a guide to empower parents to design emotionally healthy, supportive environments for their children. Since Lauren clearly has so much spare time, (not!) she also contributes to various publications such as the “Autism@Home Series” & offers webinars on autismhangout.com.
I’m just wondering when the girl sleeps!
