I was always fascinated by how we communicate, form cultures, and are affected by the societies we create and ideas we collectively come to embody. It led me to study world cultures. However, it was when I immigrated to America in 1987 that I fully understood the impact of immigration and loss of cultural identity. The Festival of Lights is a big step in this journey of cultural exploration and a grand attempt at bringing communities together to find common ground!
