Can Candan is an independent filmmaker and an academic at Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey with a BA in film from Hampshire College/USA and an MFA in film and media arts from Temple University/USA. He has directed-produced three award-winning crowdfunded feature documentaries: “Duvarlar-Mauern-Walls” (2000) on the immigrants from Turkey in post-Wall Berlin; “3 Hours” (2008) on the infamous university entrance exam in Turkey; "My Child" (2013) on a group of parents of LGBTs in Turkey.
