Founding Artistic Director

Alexandra Joye Warren is the Founding Artist Director of JOYEMOVEMENT, dance company which began in 2014. Based in Greensboro NC, JOYEMOVEMENT has performed regionally and toured nationally at many colleges, universities, festivals and conferences. The company is a 2016 recipient of the Regional Arts Grant which supported Uplift Girls, a community engagement project. A native of the Washington, D.C. Metro area, she received her BA from Spelman College and MFA from UNC Greensboro.
