Beard was born and raised in Chicago, IL. &nbsp;He attended undergrad at Tennessee State University, in Nashville, TN, where he received his B.S. in Speech Communication and Theatre with an emphasis in Mass Communication.<br></p> <p>&nbsp;<br></p> <p>Mr. Beard earned his M.A. in Screenwriting from California State University, Northridge. &nbsp;&nbsp;He wrote and co-produced the short film, <i>A Different Light </i>directed by KMarie Walters; a 2006 Black Reel Awards nominee for Best Short Film. &nbsp;Beard was hired to rewrite <i>Club Deep</i> for MTV Networks and Cedric The Entertainer�s production company, A Bird &amp; A Bear Entertainment.&nbsp; His work on that script led to his penning, <i>The J.O.B.</i>&nbsp;for Our Stories Films and A Bird &amp; A Bear Entertainment.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p><p>Mr. Beard founded the production company, To Each His Own Films (T.E.H.O.) in May 2008.&nbsp; The first project under the upstart film company was the 2009 short film <i><a href="http://www.imdb.com/video/wab/vi772801305/" title="Breaking News" target="">Breaking News</a></i>, written and produced by Beard. &nbsp;To Each His Own Films is currently submitting the short film&nbsp;<i>Time of Possession, </i>written and directed by Larry Bryant to festivals. &nbsp;</p>
