Where poetic meets profane, where refined meets raw
The oldest and wisest of the Greek muses, Calliope was associated with eloquence and epic poetry, was even said to have inspired Homer's Iliad and Odyssey. When mispronounced, however, her name refers instead to a circus instrument made by sending steam through large whistles. It is impossible to control the pitch or volume of the contraption--the thing is notoriously and unyieldingly loud and out of tune. We hope our work finds the middle point of these two extremes.
