<p>Agnes Tandler is a freelance journalist specializing in Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and the Middle East. Her work has appeared in numerous German language publications, including Spiegel, Stern, NZZ, tageszeitung, Wiener Zeitung, Welt and many others. She has provided on the ground news analysis for Swiss national radio DSR. She travels extensively and has also reported from Yemen and Iraq. </p> <p>Agnes grew up in the port town of Bremen, Germany, when the city still had a port worth the name and she still writes for the local newspaper she first visited on a school outing in her primary class days when the paper was still typeset.</p> <p>In her daily life she is also the happy mother of Anselm (10). The family of two-team has rescued abandoned animals and looked after a gang of five street dogs in the Indian capital New Delhi for six years. Finding a new Home for Scruffy has been the only wish on Anselm`s birthday wishlist this year. </p>
