I am an author and teacher whose passion includes social justice issues.

Following my Peace Corps service in Africa, I led wilderness courses for the National Outdoor Leadership School in Mexico, Kenya, Tanzania, and the western U.S. Along the way, I flew bush planes in Kenya, Alaska, and Utah. My first book, The Marble Room, was published by Lantern Books in 2012. I also teach geography and anthropology in Colorado, where I live with my wife and one cat.
