<h2><span><span><span>Born in Recife (Brasil) on November 22nd 1975, <strong>Flávio Maciel de Souza</strong>goes through very diversified experiences and soon starts meeting exceptional persons who determine his future. The keyword of his life : a desire, a dream to sing, sing and keep on singing ...</span></span></span></h2> <h2><span><span><span>Flávio</span> is very creative and has the soul of an artist. He starts working as clown and afterwards as magician to end up in the world of the theater. One muse is always present to inspire him : his guitar. Once he is 17, he decides to live for and from music after he is invited by the <em>Company Marombar</em> to travel to Europe to participate in presenting <span>«Farsa</span> <span>para</span> <span>Guignol»</span> from Garcia <span>Lorca</span>. One mission for the artist : musician at the famous <em>Festival du <span>Rire</span> </em>de<span>Rochefort</span>.</span></span></h2> <h2><span><span><span>Afterwards, he stays in Sevilla to study the flamenco art and the steps of the</span>« sevillanas ». He leaves then for Tenerife where he composes his first song «Samba da Madrugada». In 1995, the artist comes to the capital of Europe. His passion for music brings him to study at the Jazz Studio (Antwerp) where he plays with </span></span><span><span>Paulinho da Cuíca, Quentin Halloy, Olivier Lefèvre in different circumstances. Together, they create the group <em>Shambhala</em>, inspired by experimental jazz (influences : Aka Moon, Pat Metheny, Miles Davis, …). With the <em><span>Company</span> Matalumbo</em>, <span>he comes back for a while to dance and gives his personal touch to a show of Brazilian dances "Brasis" (produced by Arlene Rocha)</span>.</span></span></h2> <h2><span><span>In 1999, <span>Flávio</span> decides to go back to Brasil to trace his musical identity. He stays there for 5 years. The artist becomes a composer during this period. After meeting Renato Martins, his creations take a new direction and Flávio starts writing a new page of his professional life with a tour in Belgium and the United Kingdom in 2004.
