I am a conservation biologist / behavioral ecologist at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. Primarily I study the effects of the captive environment and behavior and how changes caused by captivity affect the ability of animals to survive in the wild after reintroduction. I have worked with species as diverse as beach mice, Galapagos mockingbirds, Syrian hamsters, and now whooping cranes.
