<p>Christoph Kirchner (born 1988 in Schweinfurt, Germany) felt in love with film since his father bought the first family camcorder when he was eight. He produced and directed his first self-founded documentary &bdquo;7DAYSGC&ldquo;, which dealt with aspects of violence in media, when he was 17. A year after the movie&lsquo;s big success on the Internet (it was released for free using Creative Commons Licence and generated more than 50.000 Downloads), german television ZDF bought the rights and broadcasted a special version of the movie in August 2008. Thanks to good reviews of his first movie, he was able to direct &bdquo;an inconvenient game&ldquo; in co-operation with Daedalic Entertaintment, Hamburg, his second full-length documentary, which follows the development of a video game which deals with the climate crises for several months.&nbsp;</p> <p><br /><span>From 2008 till 2012 Christoph has studied Communication Design with focus on Film at the University of Applied Sciences Wuerzburg in Germany and graduated with the A+ rated german-norwegian production "Hjem - Living at the end of the world". During his study he created a 10 minute short feature called&nbsp;</span><span>&bdquo;Paper Plane&ldquo; which deals with dreams of people coming from different cultural backgrounds (nominated for &bdquo;Europe is more than you think Award&ldquo; by the European Europe Press and the &bdquo;Audience Award&ldquo; at the Schweinfurt Short Film Festival). He also directed commercials for the DAAD, KitKat, Opas Wei&szlig;er and the social organisation Muehlenkampf&nbsp;</span><span>(Nominations for &bdquo;Spotlight Student Awards&ldquo; 2010 and 2011) and the documentary &bdquo;Colours of the Sky&ldquo; which explores the fascination many people have with flying. He works for German&nbsp;</span><span>Film and TV (he directed the Making Of the &bdquo;German Film Award&ldquo; Winning Feature &bdquo;Closer than Blood&ldquo;) and established his own company with creates different kinds of moving image. In August 2010 Christoph and his girlfriend moved to Auckland for 7 months to experience the media and Art Culture in New Zealand. He worked at the Moving Image Centre in Auckland. Back in Germany he completed his in New Zealand shot documentary "Trace of Light", which was awarded "Best Documentary" at Boomtown Film &amp; Music Festival 2012, USA and screened at Festivals like the Vegas CineFest2012, The European Independent Film Festival 2012 and the SouthSide Film Festival 2012.</span></p>
