Zarco Films - producing indie Latino films
Zarco Films is an independent film production company based in San Jose, California. Its mission is to highlight the rich Latino culture. Founded in 2010, Zarco Films took on 5 short fiction films and one feature film: "Lluvia Fria" (13 minutes), which raises the issue of bullying among teenagers, premiered at the San Francisco Latino Film Festival in September 2011; "Memorias Perdidas" (7 minutes), which addresses Alzheimer's disease, set to premiere at the Silicon Valley Film Festival on November 3, 2012; "Bi.das" (30 minutes, in post-production) tackles bisexuality in the Latino society head-on; "¡No Mames!" (35 minutes, in post-production) explores mid-life crisis among Latino men; and "La Banca" (12 minutes, in post-production) deals with the issues of guilt and suicide. Furthermore, Zarco Films has almost completed the production of the feature film "Sin Visa," which deals with the controversial topics of undocumented immigration and college education. All six films have been self-funded by the producers, directors, writers, and crew who have spent long weekend hours working for free under the umbrella of Zarco Films. But we need your support to fund the post-production expenses of “Sin Visa.”
