For years I had worked in an investment bank in London, while also being involved in various charity work such as volunteering for ABC Trust one day a week. In jan 2012 I left London to travel in Africa and find projects to get involved in. Being a volunteer teacher at Kris's school was supposed to be my warm-up to volunteering abroad. Yet there the kids made my heart smile, Kris's drive and belief despite his poverty was humbling, and I began to see how I could really make a difference.
