<!--StartFragment--> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial;">Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Michael has been on the move since he was eighteen, living in New Orleans and Los Angeles before settling in Toronto as a Landed Immigrant in 1995.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><br /></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><br /></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial;">His screenplay credits are as varied as the cities he has lived in: <em>20:13-Thou Shalt Not Kill</em></span><span style="font-family: Arial;">, <em>The Hustle</em></span><span style="font-family: Arial;">, both MOW thrillers; the independent dark comedy, <em>Aaron Gillespie Will Make You A Star</em></span><span style="font-family: Arial;">; and <em>A Promise</em></span><span style="font-family: Arial;">, a dramatic short starring Gordon and Leah Pinsent, where he also served as associate producer on the latter two films. He was a writer/performer with the world-renowned sketch comedy troupe, <em>The Groundlings' Sunday Show</em></span><span style="font-family: Arial;"> in LA, and has studied acting at Playhouse West with Robert Carnegie and Jeff Goldblum, where he also acted in and wrote several plays.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial;"> </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial;">His production company, Panic Pictures Inc., founded with director Brett Sullivan (<em>Ginger Snaps: Unleashed</em></span><span style="font-family: Arial;">) and producer/agent Doug Patterson, has completed its first feature, <em>The Chair,</em></span><span style="font-family: Arial;"> a supernatural thriller penned by Michael. The film has garnered several awards on the festival circuit, including Best Feature at ShriekFest 2007 and Outstanding Feature Drama at the 2008 Winnipeg Int�l Film Festival. A prolific writer, Michael has several scripts gaining interest on both sides of the border: <em>The Weight</em></span><span style="font-family: Arial;">, a taut tale of horror that was a finalist in ShriekFest�s 2010 Screenplay Competition; <em>The Body Farmers</em></span><span style="font-family: Arial;">, a zombie comedy; and <em>Career Suicide</em></span><span style="font-family: Arial;">, a dark comedy about office politics, social media and guns in the workplace. He is also writing a collection of creative non-fiction short stories, <em>South County</em>, based on his experiences growing up as the middle child of a middle class Catholic family in middle America.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial;"> </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial;">In another life, Michael made his living as an actor, and some day he plans to sit down and write his Hollywood memoirs entitled, <em>Robert DeNiro Owes Me Forty Dollars!</em></span><span style="font-family: Arial;"> His acting credits include: <em>American Prince: The JFK, Jr. Story</em></span><span style="font-family: Arial;">, <em>Made In Canada, More Tears, Deep In My Heart, A Tale Of Two Bunnies, Steal This Movie, Half A Dozen Babies, Thanks Of A Grateful Nation, Mistress</em></span><span style="font-family: Arial;"> and series regular on Nickelodeon�s <em>On The Television</em></span><span style="font-family: Arial;">, and CBS�s kids show, <em>Riders In The Sky</em></span><span style="font-family: Arial;">. Also, he has appeared in two-dozen forgettable but lucrative commercials.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial;"> </span></p> <p>While in New Orleans Michael earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcasting from Loyola University with honors. Outside of writing, he is a big supporter of Foster Parents Plan and a life-long baseball fan, rooting for the 2011 World Champion St. Louis Cardinals, and of course, the Toronto Blue Jays. </p>
