<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt">Malashock Dance advances the art and experience of dance by creating original works that communicate, challenge, entertain, and encourage new forms of personal expression. Currently in our 23rd Season, Malashock Dance is an active contributor to the vibrancy of San Diego’s cultural life, serving residents of the San Diego region, visitors in search of cultural activities, and the dance community as a whole.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes">  </span></span>Founded by John Malashock in 1988 following his extensive career in dance and theater, the Company performs in various San Diego venues and events and has toured nationally and internationally.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes">  </span>Recently, Malashock Dance has begun to incorporate other artistic voices into its repertoire, including the original choreography of Associate Artistic Director Michael Mizerany, and invited guest artists.</p><p class="MsoNormal"><br></p> <p class="MsoNormal">Malashock Dance took a leadership role in the development of Dance Place San Diego, housed in a beautifully renovated historic building at the NTC Promenade in Point Loma’s Liberty Station. This facility, which serves the entire dance community, became the Company’s new home in December 2006 and enabled the founding of The Malashock Dance School in early 2007, greatly expanding the Company’s reach and connection to the community through a full spectrum of classes, workshops, and programs that are unified through the School.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes">  </span><span style="mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt">The establishment of the School complements the Company’s performance activities and greatly expands the Company’s reach and connection to the community through a comprehensive array of year-round classes, workshops and education outreach activities for children, teens, adults and professional dancers of all abilities that are designed to make the experience of dance creative, meaningful and fun!</span></p>
