Heidi Elizabeth Philipsen Meissner (aka: actress Heidi Philipsen/director Eli Meissner) holds a B.A. Liberal Arts with an independent concentration in Film, Theatre and German Literature from the University of Michigan's Residential College, a Masters in International Affairs from Columbia University's School of International & Public Affairs, a Certificate of near-native fluency in German from the Goethe Institute, and a Certificate in Directing & Cinematography from the Motion Picture Institute of Michigan.<br><br>She is a member of the following professional organizations: Screen Actors Guild, the American Federation of Television & Radio Artists, the Actors Equity Association, New York Women in Film & Television, Women in Film Chicago, Upstate Independents (Programming Chair), and the University of Michigan Entertainment Coalition.<br><br>With nearly 20 years in theater and indie film under her belt, Ms Philipsen Meissner began her career abroad in Berlin, Germany, as an apprentice for the acclaimed THEATRE 89, before acting and directing on stage with the English Theater Berlin and, then, moving on to on camera work as a cultural reporter/weather presenter for Deutsche Welle TV and film acting/voice-over work at Grundy Ufa in Babelsberg, Berlin.<br><br>Since then, other highlights have included interviewing George Clooney, Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Foxx, Shirley McClaine, Director PT Anderson, Director David O. Russell and Gong Li at the 1998 & 1999 Berlin Film Festivals, interning for German Director Wim Wenders film production company, Road Movies, performing Off-off Broadway with Angry Jello Bubbles, studying Advanced Scene Study at Stella Adler Studios & Terry Schreiber Studios.<br><br>One of her greatest professional joys, however, has been creating her own film & theater production company, Personae Entertainment. HER TELLING HEART marks the company's first major project.<br>
