Beatrice is an enthusiastic and an award winning documentary film maker who turned 31 last year! She is intrigued and inspired by the challenges of her generation. She spent the first seven years of her childhood in South Africa that shaped later life as a documentary film maker. Beatrice studied documentary film at the Bauhaus-University in Weimar and directed, produced and assisted several international documentary film projects. Her film OMULAULE MEANS BLACK was a great successes on the festival circuit, securing distribution rights and cinema release on 35mm for Germany. With the prestigious award of the documentary treatment prize of BR/Telepool she recently completed her newest documentary SHOSHOLOZA EXPRESS, which gained festival attention around the world and won 6 awards in 2010/11. Beatrice was part of the Berlinale Talent Campus 2008 and was awarded the Boundless Media Award (WDR German TV) in 2008. She received a DAAD scholarship for her documentary film work in 2008. She works in the world and lives in Berlin.
