I did my chemistry degree at Nottingham University and a Masters at Manchester University, followed by a PhD in Australia. Towards the end of my PhD my interest in biofuels and green chemistry had grown, but it was too late to side step into a new field; it’s competitive enough in your own field. I knew at this point that I wanted to do something that would have a positive impact on the planet, but knew it couldn't be in chemistry. This is what led me to start working on opening The Clean Kilo.
