<p><span>Nomadic folk-soul artist Charles J Tan represents a new breed of musicians who carve their own career, thriving on the changes and challenges of an ever changing music industry landscape.</span><br /><br /><span>Releasing his first debut EP, The Pelham Sessions, bespoked and produced in his warehouse apartment in Carlton, the hip city-suburbia of Melbourne, he's just finished his own world tour - playing over 60 shows across </span><em>Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Manila & Los Angeles, Nashville, Queensland, Melbourne, and most recently Paris and Cannes. </em></p> <p><span>These included the</span><strong> Aussie BBQ music showcase</strong><span>, presented by </span><em>Sounds Australia</em><span> at </span><strong>Music Matters Live 2011</strong><span>, in Singapore as well as a packed house performance at </span><strong>Bay Beats Music Festival 2011</strong><span> and a support gig for </span><strong>Brooke Fraser </strong><span>in Singapore. 2011 finished off with a whirlwind tour supporting YouTube sensation,</span><strong> Clara C </strong><span>through Asia and Australia</span><strong>. </strong><span>The new year led Charles across to Europe, this time, a mini-tour in France in </span><strong>Cannes at MIDEM and Paris,</strong> releasing a self directed stop-motion music video and opened for YouTube sensation,<strong> Jayesslee.</strong></p> <p><em>"effortless blend of inventive beats and soulful, old-school melodies"</em><span> - </span><strong>Music Services Asia</strong></p>
