David Martyn Conley is a tenured Writer, Director, and Actor. He has been acting since the age of 5 years old, writing since the age of 9 years old and directing stage and screen actors for over 20 years. While attending Lincoln University, Conley: • Was the first student in the history of Lincoln University to write and direct a stage play. • Started Munirah Theatre Group consisting of other college performers. • Toured the country performing three different original plays in as many years. Later Conley started Munirah Mediaworks Inc. Through this company, Conley has: • Written, produced, directed, and performed in several independent films including, Confession, Tapestry of Shadows, and D.N.R. • Won several festival awards for Tapestry of Shadows and D.N.R. including Best Drama and Best Ensemble Acting for Tapestry of Shadows. D.N.R. has won awards for Best Dramatic Short, Best Actress (Sharon Morris, The Blindside), Best Director (Conley) from The St. Louis Film Critics Association, and Best Short at The Bronze Lens Film Festival. • Written several feature and episodic screenplays. Some of them are faith friendly works such as Raising Izzie (Recent winner of the gmc Television Network’s Faith and Family Friendly Screenplay competition, now in post production) • Raising Izzie, starring Rockmond Dunbar, premiered as the Finale Film for the 2012 American Black Film Festival (ABFF) in Miami Florida. It was also gmc television network’s biggest world premiere ever. Conley has appeared on Network television and commercials including: • Tyler Perry’s House of Payne • Army Wives • Drop Dead Diva • Disney’s Let It Shine • Equifax (Commercial) • Rooms to Go (Commercial) • CVS Project Health Initiative (Documentary spot featuring Sharon Morris.
